Road work to begin on Hurricane Ridge

August 25, 2013

Motorists and cyclists should expect delays as long as 30 minutes on Olympic National Park’s Hurricane Ridge Road starting Monday.

The park is rehabilitating the road’s three tunnels, and work is expected to last until Oct. 22. Traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone.

The $379,000 project calls for repairing interior concrete liners, exterior portals, removing vegetation and loose rock, applying concrete sealant and new reflective interior paint.

Work is scheduled for weekdays 6 a.m.-6 p.m. For current road information, call 360-565-3131 or visit nps.gov/olym.
