PADDLING: Kitsap trails now part of Cascadia Marine Trail

August 25, 2013

The Washington Water Trails program has added the Kitsap Peninsula Water Trails to its Cascadia Marine Trail. The Cascadia Marine Trail is a National Scenic Trail.

Kitsap County has the second-longest coastline in the state — 371 miles of shoreline – and is surrounded by a variety of marine environments that attract paddlers from around the world.

The Kitsap water trail is now featured on the Washington water trails website, along with other popular water trails in the state that serve nearly 500,000 people each year.

Kitsap County and Visit Kitsap Peninsula formed the Kitsap Peninsula Water Trails Alliance, which includes dozens of water trail stakeholders who will help oversee management of the water trails.
