Three Chuckanut Bay products play for Team USA

Three Whatcom County players were on the 31-man roster for Team USA on Sunday, Aug. 18, in Charleston, S.C., when if faced Canada in the first round of qualifying for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Bellingham High alum Shaun Pittman was in the starting lineup for the Eagles, while Sehome alum Titi Lamositele was a reserve. Nick Wallace (Squalicum) was not listed on the active roster.

Lamositele, 18, was the youngest player to ever play for the national team.

All three are products of the Chuckanut Bay youth program.

Unfortunately, they did not bring the Eagles much luck, as Canada jumped out early and won 27-9. The two teams will play again Saturday, Aug. 24, in Toronto.
