Questions solar for White House

President Obama is installing solar cells on the White House roof. It's unfortunate he didn't first read the book, "Physics For Future Presidents" by Richard Muller, a Ph.D. physicist at UC Berkeley and renowned global warming scientist.

Dr. Muller states that using photovoltaic cells to create electricity is not yet economical. He concludes that, even in sunny California, it would take 22 years for such an installation to just break even, assuming it does not fail before then. The White House states the installation is symbolic. Of what? The Obama Administration's propensity to spend our tax dollars without exercising common sense?
