Brandon Nelson tries for world paddling record

Brandon Nelson begins his quest to break the Guinness world record for most distance traveled on flat water in a canoe or kayak over a 24-hour period at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Lake Padden Park in Bellingham. The record of 150.34 miles was set in 2006 by California's Carter Johnson.
