Metro Parks Tacoma is opening Owen Beach for camping two nights this month.

The campouts include a tent space, snacks, activities, storytelling and a hot sunrise breakfast. Campers need to bring, at a minimum, their own tent, sleeping bags, toiletries, flashlight and bug spray.

The first night will be Saturday, and the other will be Aug. 31. For Saturday’s program, you must register by Monday. The registration deadline for the Aug. 31 event is Aug. 26.

Children 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The cost is $50 for up to four people on an 8-by-8- foot site, $75 for up to six people on an 11-by-9 space and $100 for up to eight people on a 13-by-9 foot space.

Spaces are limited. Sign up at metroparkstacoma.org.

Owen Beach is in Point Defiance Park, 5400 N. Pearl St., Tacoma.
