BELLINGHAM - The grocery store chain WinCo announced an 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, opening of its store at 300 E. Bellis Fair Parkway, in the former Joe's Sporting Goods store.
WinCo spokesman Michael Read said the plan is to get the doors open Thursday, with some grand opening deals next week. The 90,000-square-foot Bellingham store will have fresh produce, bulk food, meat, deli, seafood and bakery departments.
The store does not accept credit cards, but does take U.S. and Canadian cash, debit cards and checks. The store is employee-owned. WinCo has 88 stores in seven states.
