West a double winner at Bellingham City Open


Sehome's Avery West is gearing up the right way for his senior season in boys' tennis by winning two titles at the Bellingham City Open at the Bellingham Tennis Club.

West beat Tyson McGuffin of Yakima 6-4, 6-3 to win the Men's Open Singles title and paired up with Ari Adelstein to win the Men's Open Doubles title 6-4, 6-2 over Andy Schmidt and Dana Gill.

Bellingham High School graduate Bella Hoyos lost 6-0, 3-6, 6-0 to Nina Erdevicki of Vancouver, B.C., in the Women's Open Singles final.

Also, Renton's Christopher May defeated Jonathan Leonard of Samamish 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 in the NTRP Men's 35 Singles final.
