Delays expected at Thornton Street in Ferndale during construction

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDAugust 6, 2013

FERNDALE - Drivers are encouraged to avoid the intersection of Thornton Street and Vista Drive on Thursday, Aug. 8, and Friday, Aug. 9, as crews pave the intersection. A detour around the work runs from the Malloy Avenue roundabout to Aldergrove Road, then south on Vista. Work may extend to Monday, Aug. 12.

Drivers taking the intersection can expect delays as long as 20 minutes during work hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The work is part of the reconstruction of a badly damaged section of Thornton between Vista and Maureen Drive. It is scheduled to be completed before the school year starts.
