Food Network 'Chopped' celebrity to visit Bellingham

BELLINGHAM - A local wine store will be hosting a celebrity from the Food Network on Friday, Aug. 9.

Ted Allen, host of the television show "Chopped," and an author, will be doing a cooking demonstration and book signing at Seifert & Jones Wine Merchants, which is at 19 Prospect St. in downtown Bellingham.

The event starts at 6 p.m. Allen will demonstrate a few recipes and sign copies of his new cookbook, "In My Kitchen: 100 Recipes and Discoveries for Passionate Cooks." The event is open to the public.

According to a news release, Allen is a childhood friend of Ted Seifert, co-owner of the wine shop.
