Bells suffer loss to Elks at home


The Bellingham Bells suffered a 5-3 West Coast League loss to Bend on Sunday, Aug. 4, at Joe Martin Field.

The Bells were losing 5-1 in the bottom of the ninth when Michael Annunziata hit a two-run home run but that was it as Bellingham left the bases loaded.

Ryan Kirby hit a solo home run in the second inning for the Bells.

Bellingham starting pitcher Andrew Freter (0-2) allowed four runs on five hits and three walks in 1 1/3 innings to take the loss.
