Youth-run market open Tuesdays in downtown Bellingham

BELLINGHAM - A weekly market selling produce grown by at-risk and homeless young adults runs Tuesday afternoons through September.

Carrots, beets, arugula, Yukon gold potatoes and flowers are among the offerings at the market, which is open 2 to 5 p.m. at 1020 N. State St.

All proceeds go to the We Grow program run by Northwest Youth Services that operates the garden. The program pairs youths with community volunteers to plant, grow and harvest the produce and teaches them job-related skills.
