Bellingham, Blaine primary ballots due Tuesday


Voting in the primary election ends Tuesday, Aug. 6, in Bellingham, the Bellingham School District and Blaine Ward 2.

Voters may return their ballots by 8 p.m. Tuesday to the drop boxes in the south courthouse parking lot, 201 Grand Ave. Bellingham; and the Blaine Public Library, 610 Third St. Ballots also may be hand-delivered to the Auditor's Office in Suite 103, 311 Grand Ave., Bellingham. The office will remain open until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

To ensure returning ballots on time, Auditor Debbie Adelstein advised voters not to put them in the mail on Tuesday.

Primary ballots include the Bellingham City Council at-large seat, a Bellingham School Board seat and a position on the Blaine City Council.

Voter turnout was 15 percent as of Monday, Aug. 5, according to the auditor's website.
