Bells pound on Elks in WCL action


The Bellingham Bells had 10 hits in a 9-3 win over Bend on Friday, Aug. 2, at Joe Martin Field.

In the third inning, Christopher Beall scored on a wild pitch, Alex Calbick knocked in two runs with a double and Ryan Kirby had a two-RBI single.

Beall had a solo home run in the fourth inning, Jake Bailey sacrificed in a run in the fifth inning and Eric Angerer scored on a throwing error.

Bailey tacked on a run for Bellingham by scoring in the eighth inning.

Bells starting pitcher Andrew Olson gave up three hits and three runs and struck out eight in seven innings for the win.
