Concerned geese are fouling Lake Whatcom

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDAugust 3, 2013

With Bellingham and Whatcom County concerned with pollution of Lake Whatcom I don't understand how they can allow geese to remain on the lake. We have approximately 20 swimming by our lot every day and the feces left on a neighbor's float from one night of occupation is disgusting. We realize that this is less than half of a day's output and what doesn't end up on shore or on floats goes directly into Lake Whatcom water. What ends up on shore or docks also ends up in the water due to rain or wave action. I have a picture of this one dock with the results of one night of these geese. We live near Agate Bay and it is illegal to shoot in this area.
