Bulldogs win PFL title

The Bellingham Bulldogs won the Pacific Football League championship with a 40-7 win over the Springfield Buzzards on Saturday, July 27, in Aberdeen.

Eric Taylor had four touchdown passes in the win that gave the Bulldogs a final record of 11-2 on the season. Toby Seim was on the receiving end of two of those TD passes and Nicholas Gavigan and Doug Miller caught the other two.

Noah Clein also had a touchdown pass to Gavigan.

Brett Hall also had a 92-yard touchdown run for the Bulldogs.

Hall, Daniel Flynn, Aaron Eriksen, Steve Faoro, Sean Hicks and Miguel Pierre were named to the PFL North Division All-League team.

Eric Pitner, Jon Bon and Taylor Johnson were named to the second team.

SALMINEN TO REPRESENT FINLAND

North County lacrosse player Treven Salminen was selected to play for Finland in the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships in Denver.

Prior to the summer games in Denver, Salminen will attend Lees-McRae College in North Carolina and play NCAA Division II lacrosse for the Bobcats.

MUDS TO SUDS EARLY REGISTRATION ENDS SOON

Early bird registration for the Muds to Suds race ends Aug. 5, which will see a $10 increase in cost on all catagories.

Muds to Suds, a 2.5 mile muddy obstacles course race and ends in a sudsy finale, will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 24 and 25.

D-BLOCK HOOPS TO HOST CAMP

The D-Blocks Hoops will host the Summer Sizzle basketball camp, which starts Aug. 7.

The registration deadline is Aug. 3.

BOATING CAMPS STILL AVAILABLE

The Boating Center still offers a variety of weeklong boating camps, which are available until Sept. 6.

The camps, which are for youth 9 years old to 14, are during the day, Monday through Friday and cost $250 per week.
