The 52nd Anacortes Arts Festival, taking place 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2-4, in downtown Anacortes, is one of the largest and oldest arts festivals in the region. It consists of 250 juried booth artisans filling downtown Anacortes, two musical stages, and a fine art exhibit in a waterfront setting.

On the weekend, an area with demonstrating artists features chalk painting, sculpture, woodturning, basketry and more. There also will be about 30 regional and ethnic food vendors, two beer-and-wine gardens, and a hands-on activity area for youths.

Events are free and family- (but not pet-) friendly.
