WWU's Needham earns academic honor


Western Washington University men's golfer Evan Needham was named a Golf Coaches Association of America Cleveland Golf/Srixon Division II All-America Scholar in an announcement Thursday, July 25.

Needman, a plastics engineering technology major with a 3.30 grade point average, completed his eligibility last spring and will graduate in December.

Needham was a Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-star in helping WWU to the conference championship, second place at the South Central/West Regional and the semifinals at the NCAA II National Championships.

Needham, who also was a GNAC academic all-star, had a 75.1 stroke average.
