BOATING: Renovated Sammamish boat launch reopens

A newly improved watercraft launch at Lake Sammamish State Park near Issaquah opened Thursday.

The popular public watercraft launch has been undergoing improvement in phases over the past several years. The launch now has metal piers replacing wooden pieces and includes docks that extend farther into the lake to resolve flooding issues and to address changes in water levels occurring over time. The improvements also include a new lane configuration and new ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act criteria.

Boaters paying by the day must purchase a $7 watercraft launch permit and also display the Discover Pass ($10 a day or $30 a year). Those who purchase an annual watercraft launch permit for $80 may launch year-round at State Park watercraft launches and do not need to show a Discover Pass to visit state parks.

The park is at 2000 NW Sammamish Road, Issaquah. The entrance to the boat launch is off East Lake Sammamish Parkway.
