Slowdowns on Mount Baker Highway expected east of Glacier

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJuly 20, 2013

GLACIER - Drivers headed to Artist Point and other national forest destinations on Mount Baker Highway can expect minor delays from Monday, July 22, to Thursday, July 25, east of Glacier, according to the Department of Transportation.

The highway will be reduced to one lane from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. those days, between mileposts 35 and 41, from Coal Creek Bridge east to Wells Creek Road. Crews will repair pavement that "takes a beating" from winter weather, plowing and sanding, the DOT said.
