WWU's Harris to play hoops in Denmark

Women's basketball player Britt Harris, who completed her eligibility at Western Washington University last March, has signed a professional contract to play for Aabyhoj in Denmark.

Aabyhoj is the western suburb of Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark. The team competes in the Danish League and in tournaments throughout Europe.

Harris, a graduate of Marysville-Pilchuck High School, leaves on August 10 and will not return until May.

Harris was a third-team Daktronics and honorable mention NCAA Division II Bulletin All-American as a senior, helping the Vikings to a 29-4 record, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships, a West Regional title and the national semifinals.

A business major at Western, Harris plans on taking online courses during her stay in Denmark and completing her degree upon her return.
