The 34th annual Birch Bay Discovery Days festival offers arts and crafts fair, a parade and more from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 20, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 21, on the shores of Birch Bay

The grand parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday from The C Shop on Anderson Road.

The (rubber) Ducky Derby begins at 9 a.m. Sunday at the bridge near The C Shop. Sponsor a duck for $5 and name your duck as 400 duckys float down Terrell Creek to the finish line. The first 25 ducks that cross the line win prizes.

There's plenty more to do in Birch Bay - including flying kites on the beach, clamming and wake boarding. Details: birchbaychamber.com, 360-371-5004.
