Rant: Bellingham Police Dept. is inadequate

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJuly 14, 2013

Sadly, I must concur with a letter writer about the Bellingham Police Department being inadequate. Three weeks ago a friend of mine, a disabled woman, was assaulted by one of her neighbors. A uniformed officer spoke with the assailant, but not the victim, and took no action. A detective was contacted, provided a witness list, even saw a portion of the incident on video, but still no action has been taken. I can't help but question the priorities of the Bellingham Police Department.
