Rant: Driver says she did not "steal" a handicapped parking spot

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJuly 14, 2013

This letter is to the person who left a note on my dashboard at the Center for Senior Health on Monday, July 8, stating that I "stole" their handicapped parking spot. Well, I had just dropped my 93-year-old mother-in-law off at the front entrance of the clinic as I could not find a vacant handicapped spot upon arriving. I then transported her in her wheelchair back to the handicapped spot after her appointment. Maybe next time you judge somebody using those much-needed and appreciated designated areas you might want to stop and think about what the circumstances might have been before you write a nasty note and leave on the dash unsigned. I have never abused the privilege for myself.
