Long delays expected on Smith, other Ferndale-area roads

FERNDALE - Long traffic delays are expected as roads in the Ferndale area will be chip sealed from Monday, July 15, to Friday, July 19.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes to avoid work on Smith Road, from the city limits to Everson Goshen Road; Slater Road, west of Ferndale; Lake Terrell Road, from Slater to Mountain View Road; Rainbow Road; Mountain View, from Lake Terrell to Rainbow; and Birch Bay-Lynden Road, from Blaine Road to Harborview Road.

The work schedule could change, depending on the weather. More information is at whatcomcounty.us/publicworks/roadclosures.
