Bellingham climber who summited Everest gives talk July 10

BELLINGHAM - A Bellingham climber who summited Mount Everest, the world's tallest mountain, and achieved his quest to climb the highest summit on each of the seven continents, will talk about that achievement Wednesday, July 10.

Dave Mauro's presentation is a fundraiser for Bellingham Boys & Girls Club. He hopes to raise $29,035 - one dollar for each foot of Everest, which he climbed in May.

The event, which will include photos, is 4 to 6 p.m. at Bellingham Golf & Country Club, 3729 Meridian St. Tickets cost $50, available online through the "Climbing for Kids" link at or by contacting Jill Reid, Bellingham branch director, at 360-527-9777, ext. 222.
