Lynden U-10 team has dominant showing

The Lynden Storm 10-U baseball team had a dominant offensive showing at the Cal Ripken 10-U State Tournament on Thursday, July 4, in Moses Lake, defeating Wenatchee 18-4 and Warden 28-1.

Logan Dykstra picked up the win in the first game, picking up eight strikeouts along the way.

"(He) pitched some solid innings, and did a great job," Lynden coach Cory White said in a phone interview.

Zach Cipma picked up the win in the second game, only allowing the one run.

White left the first two games particularly impressed with his catcher, Caleb Dahlgren.

"He just did a great job," White said. "Two different style of pitchers, and he kept the ball in front of him."

Coloe Moorlag, Adam Klausman, Cade Slayton, Connor White and Baylor Ayres all had strong days at the plate, including a ground-rule double for Ayers.

The Storm finish up pool play Friday, July 5, with a game against Peninsula.
