Blaine Jazz Festival opens July 7

For this year's Blaine Jazz Festival, nationally known musicians work with students from Whatcom County and beyond in a one-week jazz camp and present concerts Sunday, July 7, through July 13 in downtown Blaine and at Blaine Performing Arts Center.

Faculty members include Andy Marshall, Darin Clendenin, Larry Holloway, Greg Hopkins, Martin Kuuskmann, Greta Matassa, John Mutchler and Christopher Woitach.

Concerts include jazz solos and choir vocals, jazz bands and combos, and a classical/fusion program for all instruments. Concerts and are free or by donation.

The concerts are presented by Pacific Arts Association and the city of Blaine, in cooperation with Blaine School District. Details: 360- 820-8312, blainejazz.org/PAA/Home.html.
