Bells bounce back with 9-3 win


The Bellingham Bells bounced back from their worst loss of the season to earn a 9-3 West Coast League win against Walla Walla Friday, June 28, at Joe Martin Field.

Bells outfielder Jack Meggs hit a two-run triple in the first to help build an early 4-0 lead, and Bellingham tacked on four more runs in the fourth.

Starting pitcher Nate Cole tossed five innings, giving up two unearned runs on seven hits for the win.

Bells Ryan Yamane, Alex Calbick, Steven Leverett and Meggs each recorded multi-hit games.

Bellingham plays Walla Walla next at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at Joe Martin Field.
