Whatcom Tesseract, Meridian athlete places second at USA Youth Outdoor Track and Field Championships


Meridian high school cross country and track and field athlete Collin Magnusson placed second in the 2,000 meter steeplechase during the 2013 USA Youth Outdoor Track and Field Championships Tuesday, June 25, in St. Louis, Mo.

He finished the race in 6 minutes, 30.14 seconds competing in the 15/16-year-old division. He ran representing the Whatcom Tesseract Youth Running Club.

Magnusson lost to Shayn Jackson, who won the race, by less than two seconds. He will be a junior next fall.
