Angerer homers in Bells win


The Bellingham Bells jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 7-4 win Monday, June 24, at Kitsap.

Eric Angerer had a three-run home run for the Bells in the first inning and Alex Calbick added an RBI single.

In the fourth inning, Calbick and Ryan Kirby both knocked in runs.

Bells starter Matt Bower gave up five hits and two runs in four innings. Reliever Chase Radan pitched the final five innings, giving up four hits and two runs to earn the victory.

On Sunday, Johnny Farrington walked with the bases loaded as the Bells scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat Kelowna 5-4.

Bells starter John Albert gave up two hits and one run in three innings of work. Michael Rucker (3-0) pitched the ninth to earn the win.
