Calbick stars in Bells victory at home


It was the Alex Calbick show for the Bellingham Bells on Friday, June 21, at Joe Martin Field.

The Bells squandered a 6-0 lead as the Kelowna Falcons tied the game 6-6 in the top of the ninth inning. Bellingham then loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth and Calbick singled in the winning run for a 7-6 victory.

Calbick, who was 4 for 5 with two runs and four RBI, also singled in a run in a four-run first inning and had a two-run home run in the second.

Ryan Kirby and Mike Connolly both knocked in runs for the Bells.

Luke Morrill went six innings, giving up two hits and three runs while striking out nine in the no-decision. Michael Rucker earned the win.
