Post 7 has ups and downs so far at tournament

The Bellingham Post 7 Senior Legion baseball team is 2-1 so far at the Yakima Wood Bat Tournament.

Post 7 opened the tournament with a 4-0 win over Norcal on Thursday, June 20. Matt Richards (3-0) threw a 1-hitter for Post 7 and Luke Christianson and Austyn Sprague each had doubles in the victory.

Post 7 then beat the Skagit Sox 2-1 to open play Friday, June 21. Tanner Olson (2-0) earned the win on the mound, and Aaron Burke had two doubles in the victory.

Post 7 (13-3) lost to the Yakima Beetles 11-6 later Friday. Brice Longanecker (1-1) took the loss and Jake Manson, Christianson and Dan Goebel each had a triple in the loss. It snapped Post 7's 10-game winning streak.

The team plays the Skagit Sox again at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22.
