Paving to cause delays east of Ferndale

Drivers are advised to take alternate routes Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, when crews lay asphalt on three Whatcom County roads in preparation for chip sealing.

Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Meadowlark Drive, Paradise Road and Waschke Road (north of West Smith Road). Long delays are expected in the work areas.

The schedule could change due to weather. For more information, call 360-676-6759 or 360-380-8111.

The 974 miles of county roads are chip sealed on a seven-year cycle as part of regular maintenance.
