THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJune 19, 2013

Local and state law enforcement will be on the lookout for impaired drivers in Whatcom County over the next two weeks, with emphasis patrols running Friday, June 21, through July 7.

During the emphasis, there will be more police officers, Whatcom County Sheriff's deputies and Washington State Patrol troopers on the road looking for drivers who may be drunk or under the influence of drugs.

Funding for the extra patrols comes from a grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
