Late rally helps Bells sweep AppleSox


Designated hitter Michael Annunziata drove in the eventual game-winning run with a two-RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Bellingham Bells to a 3-2 win against Wenatchee during a West Coast League game Friday, June 14, at Joe Martin Stadium.

The win completed a sweep of the AppleSox, improving the Bells' record to 6-3.

Bellingham's Nick Baker got the start, working five innings while giving up two earned runs on six hits. He struck out one. Marc Huberman pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief for the win.

All three of Bellingham's runs came in the eighth inning. Alex Calbick drove in Johnny Sewald with a single to start the scoring. Johnny Farrington and Christopher Beall recorded multi-hit games.

The Bells play Everett next at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Joe Martin Stadium.
