Fiber works on display during meeting of weavers' guilds

The Association of Northwest Weavers' Guilds meets this weekend at Western Washington University, and the public is invited to see fiber works on display at WWU's Fine Arts Gallery, Thursday through Sunday, June 20-23, 2013.

The Association of Northwest Weavers' Guilds meets this weekend at Western Washington University, and the public is invited to see fiber works on display at WWU's Fine Arts Gallery, Thursday through Sunday, June 20-23.

Carver Gym will host the guilds' marketplace, a great place to shop for yarns, fabric dyes, books, spinning and weaving tools, and more. Friday evening at Carver Gym there will be demonstrations of Ravenstail weaving from 4 to 6 p.m. and Mexican weaving from 6 to 8 p.m.

Also, Courtney Lipson will discuss traditional weaving of native peoples of the Northwest coast at 8 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Jansen Art Center, 321 Front St., Lynden.
