Road work: Wharf Street on Bellingham waterfront to close this weekend

The Public Works Department said the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week of June 14-21, 2013, to accommodate construction and repair.

Wharf Street from N. State St. to Cornwall Ave.

Wharf Street will be closed between N. State St. and Cornwall Avenue Friday, June 14 from 8 a.m. to noon and Monday, June 17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while water crews excavate the water main. Cornwall Avenue at Maple Street

Travelers can expect intermittent delays on Cornwall Avenue and Maple Street as construction continues on raingarden installation and related stormwater improvements. W. Bakerview Road between Bennett and W. Maplewood avenues night work

Monday evenings to Friday mornings, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., travelers can expect eastbound lane closures on W. Bakerview Road from Bennett to W. Maplewood avenues as Ram Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, continue work to improve arterial safety on the I-5 overpass. Myrtle and Liberty streets

Myrtle Street at Liberty Street will be closed to traffic as crews pour a concrete street panel followed by restoration work. Ram Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will continue the 2012 Water Main Replacement project. Expect delays and detours. Flaggers will direct traffic and assist with pedestrian safety as needed. Harris and McKenzie avenues, 4th and 10th streets

Travelers can expect moderate truck traffic on Harris and McKenzie avenues as well as 4th and 10th streets in Fairhaven up to Interstate 5 as construction concrete work continues associated with the Post Point Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements project.
