Seven county football players to play in Saturday's Earl Barden Classic

The 2013 Earl Barden Classic 2A/1A/B All-State Football Game will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Yakima East Valley High School.

A number of Whatcom County seniors are scheduled to participate.

Class 2A state champion Lynden will have three players in the game with Whitworth University-bound lineman Bret DeGraaff, Portland State-bound quarterback Josh Kraght and University of Montana-bound receiver Zach Vis making the trip, while Blaine will send Central Washington-bound lineman James Fakkema and Montana State Northern-bound running back Mario Gobbato to the game.

Mount Baker offensive lineman/linebacker Tyrel Cronk and Squalicum linebacker/fullback/tight end Sam Olney also are scheduled to play for the West team, which will be coached by Morton/West Passes' Aaron Poquette.

Players are selected by the Washington State Football Coaches Association.
