Slam's win streak snapped by Portland

The Bellingham Slam's ten game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Portland Chinooks, losing 121-113 during an International Basketball League game Tuesday, June 11, at Eastmoreland Court in Portland, Ore.

Jacob Stevenson led the Slam with 30 points, while Derrick Webb had 15. Bellingham was outrebounded 59-27.

An 11-2 Portland run to start the second half put the Slam behind by 19, but Bellingham cut the lead to 92-83 late in the third quarter after Rico Wilkins hit a 3-pointer.

The Slam's next home game is against the Vancouver Volcanoes at 7 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Whatcom Pavilion.
