Summer busy with Fairhaven dances, concerts and Everson Nooksack festival

Everson Nooksack Summer A book sale, food and craft vendors, a pancake breakfast, a parade down Main Street, softball tournaments, barbecue, and a horseshoe tournament are all part of the annual city festival, July 12-14 at Everson City Park, Riverside Park and downtown Everson.

July dancing free in Fairhaven

People of all ages are welcome to dance from 2 to 5 p.m. every Sunday in July at Fairhaven Village Green, 10th Street and Mill Avenue. Listeners are welcome, too. The schedule: July 7, swing music with Saltwater Octet; July 14, two-step music with Folichon Cajun Band; July 21, Latin music with Alma Villegas; July 28, Gypsy and Balkan music with Balkanarama.

Warbird Weekend

The Bell Air R/C Flyers Radio Control Model Club’s annual event features models of planes from World War I to the present day, "Red Barron vs. Snoopy" fights, and more, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 27-28 at the club field on South Red River Road, near Ferndale.

Elizabeth Park concerts

The Eldridge Society for History and Preservation and the Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department bring a mix of Whatcom County musicians to the annual Elizabeth Park concert series this summer. The free, family-friendly events are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, June 27 through Aug. 29.

People can bring a picnic or splurge on delectables from vendors at the park at Walnut and Elizabeth streets, in the Columbia neighborhood.

Performers include Dana Lyons, Amber Darland,What the Chelm!, the Holmes-Shea Band and the Honeybees.
