Whatcom County home, landscape tour celebrates eco-friendly techniques

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 27, 2013

Check out innovative and eco-friendly homes during the 11th annual Imagine This! Home & Landscape Tour on June 22-23.

The self-guided tour runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New this year is a Green Playhouse Design Build Competition, which involves 10 local teams of businesses, architects, students and designers working together to create eco-friendly playhouses. The creations will be auctioned off at the Whatcom Museum's Lightcatcher building, 121 Prospect St. in Bellingham, when the tour ends June 23.

Tour tickets are required. They will be sold in early June at a number of locations, including Village Books, Bakerview Nursery & Garden Center, Community Food Co-op, RE Store, and Garden Spot Nursery.

Tickets cost $15 for the tour, closing reception and playhouse auction, or $5 for just the closing reception and auction.

The closing reception and auction at the Lightcatcher begins at 3 p.m. June 23.
