THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 25, 2013

Drivers are advised to take alternate routes Tuesday, May 28, through Friday, May 31, when crews will lay asphalt on some Whatcom County roads in preparation for chip sealing.

Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. those days on West Laurel Road, Old Guide Road, Aldrich Road and Clarkson Lane. Long delays are expected around work areas.

The schedule may change due to weather. For more information call 360-676-6759 or 360-380-8111.

The 974 miles of county roads are chip sealed on a seven-year cycle as part of regular maintenance.
