Roadwork to cause delays north of Bellingham this week

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 20, 2013

Drivers are advised to take alternate routes Tuesday, May 21, through Friday, May 24, when crews will lay asphalt on some Whatcom County roads in preparation for chip sealing.

Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. those days on West Wiser Lake Road, Northwest Drive, King Tut Road, West Hemmi Road and West Laurel Road. Long delays are expected around work areas.

The schedule could change due to weather. For details, call 360-676-6759 or 360-380-8111.

The 974 miles of county roads are chip-sealed on a seven-year cycle as part of regular maintenance.
