Lummi's Medina sets personal best at Quad-District meet

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 17, 2013

Lummi's Enrique Medina was in rare form on Thursday, May 16, in the Quad District track meet at Port Angeles High School, setting personal bests in the 800 and 1,600 en route to wins and subsequent berths to the Northwest 1B state track meet.

Medina will be joined by fellow teammate Deion Hoskins, who also earned a bid to the state meet after winning the shot put with a toss of 43 feet, 7 inches.

Although Richard Edwards didn't win the 400 like his teammates did in their respective events, Edwards' fifth-place finish in the 400 with a time of 57 seconds also earned him a bid to the state meet.

All three will compete at the Northwest 1B state meet being held in Cheney, at Eastern Washington University starting Friday, May 24.
