Sehome track takes 1-2-3 in boys' pole vault

Sehome's Sam Humphreys, Dylan Anderson and Blaise Black took 1-2-3 in the pole vault at the Class 2A Northwest District prelims at Civic Stadium on Wednesday, May 15, each earning a spot at the 2A state track meet.

Conner Johnsen and Austin Rapp will join their fellow Mariners at state. Johnsen earned his spot after taking first in the 1,600, defeating Bellingham's Joe Charbonneau by one 100th of a second. Squalicum's Patrick Gibson finished third to book an all-Whatcom County top-3.

Rapp earned his spot after winning the discus with a mark of 159-00, and Bellingham's Marques Reynolds rounded out the top-3 with a mark of 138-07.

The only other Whatcom County competitor to book his spot at the state meet was Squalicum's Jonah Jacobson with a third-place finish in the long jump.
