The Sehome softball team scored in every inning to win 11-1 in five innings over Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference game at home Thursday, May 9.
"We came out right in the beginning and kept adding on as we went," Sehome coach Jim Emerson said in a phone interview. "The big blow was (Gabby Gorosave's) grand slam that opened up the game a little. We were able to score in every inning off a pretty good pitcher. We swung well and made some good plays."
Gorosave went 3 for 3 with a run, five RBI and a home run for the Mariners (6-6 NWC, 8-10). Meagan McIntyre went 2 for 3 with three runs and two RBI, Rachel Albert went 2 for 4 with a run and a RBI and Jenny McIntyre went 2 for 2 with a run and two stolen bases.
Mallory Kruzich earned the win for Sehome.
"Mallory pitched a really good game," Emerson said. "She pitched really well today after being sick the past few days. Gabby hit the ball really well for us all year and finished it off good by hitting the ball well."
This was Sehome's final game of the year.
