Rejects fee for border crossing

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 10, 2013

Feds want to make a study for a border-crossing fee.

Economic development wise, it is a bad idea. We don't need to divide our country from the north. It will leave a bad relationship with Canada.

Canada is a friend and partner who has and is investing in our community.

The revenue goes for our schools and local business.

My opinion I write as the president of the Northwest Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Washington State Hispanic Commissioner.
