Lummi wins final game 19-14

The Lummi baseball team walked away with a 19-14 win over Muckleshoot in its final game of the year at home Wednesday, May 8.

"We won the series with them and had a lot of offense in the game," Lummi coach Jim Sandusky said in a phone interview. "We were able to shut them down enough in the middle innings to get a comfortable lead by the end of the fifth and sixth innings. Dieon Hoskins was able to come in and close out the last two innings really well."

Hoskins also went 2 for 4 for the Blackhawks. Charlie Wilson went 1 for 1 and Eagle Hawk went 2 for 2 with a double.

Richard Jefferson earned the win on the mound for Lummi and improved to 4-3.

"Richard did a good job on the mound," Sandusky said. "By the time he left the game he had nine strikouts."
