Sedro blanks Blaine, 11-0

The Blaine girls' softball team couldn't manage a hit against Sedro-Woolley in a losing effort, 11-0, on Tuesday, May 7, at Sedro-Woolley in a Northwest Conference game.

Ashley Queen tossed the no-hitter, and in addition to the dominant performance on the mound, the Cubs were hitting everything in sight.

"We just couldn't put it anywhere near the plate without them hitting it," Blaine coach Alisa Burke said in a phone interview. "We didn't play bad at all, and one through nine, they hit everything."

Ashley Bolick picked up her sixth loss of the season in the circle.

"They had seven doubles today," Burke said. "Everything was off the wall or in the gap."

Blaine finished the regular season with a record of 12-7, NWC 7-5, and it awaits the Class 1A Northwest District Playoffs which begin on Friday, May 10.
